 Morton have a new supporter liaison officer in the shape of Graham Barr following the departure of Craig Skinner who was appointed as our first ever SLO in March this year. He had to reluctantly resign his position after he was offered a fantastic career opportunity in London. Skinner handed over the reins to another lifelong fan in Barr, who also applied for the post when it was advertised and reached the final two in the selection process, making him the obvious choice as successor.Barr said: "I’m delighted to be taking over the SLO role from Craig Skinner. Craig did a fantastic job at the end of last season and I’m really looking to pick up where he left off. I attended my first game in 1999, as a six-year-old, against Clyde and have been a dedicated supporter ever since. So the opportunity to be a part of the club I’ve grown up with is extremely exciting. My background is in marketing, communications, and journalism which will come in extremely useful when acting as a bridge to help the fans communicate with the club. I intend to speak with fans on a regular basis and travel on different supporters’ clubs buses to some away games in order to strengthen the link between club and fans. All fan feedback is helpful, so if anyone wants to get in touch with their comments I’ll be delighted to listen and help them get heard where it matters." Skinner said: "I am proud that I was appointed the first SLO of my boyhood club. It was a great honour to work with Warren Hawke and would like to thank him for appointing me. I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to work in the London construction industry. To get a graduate job like this so soon after finishing university is fantastic and unexpected. However, it also meant that I was not in a position to continue as SLO, so I pass the baton on to Graham and wish him all the best in his new role. I’m sure he will serve his fellow supporters and the club well." Chief executive Warren Hawke said: "Firstly, I’d like to thank Craig for his efforts and wish him the very best in his new career down south. I hope to see him back at Cappielow when he’s at home visiting in future. We are really looking forward to working with Graham. He’s an impressive individual who I believe will bring forward the fans’ views on how to continue to improve and progress our club." |
