Joints are tricky things to repair and it is rarely a case of running knocks off. Hibs are willing to get the specialists involved to solve Alan O'Brien's msytery injury.

"Alan is being driven demented by being sidelined."
Hibs winger Alan O'Brien has to consult a specialist to determine whether he needs an operation to help him overcome his injured knee. O'Brien has been on the sidelines for a month after picking up a knock when Hibs drew away to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. So far scans have failed to identify the problem which has had the Easter Road medical staff scratching their heads. While insisting it was believed the problem was minor, manager Mixu Paatelainen last week said: "
Whenever Alan rests for a couple of days it gets better but then when he starts running again it flares up."

Yesterday, assistant Donald Park confirmed the Republic of Ireland star will now seek advice from a specialist. He said: "
We need to get it cleared up. Alan is being driven demented by being sidelined. It's a great shame because Alan had made a very good start to the season, he was starting to blossom, his confidence was rising and he was showing the fans what he was all about."
