The hard work had been done by Aberdeen when they took a two goal lead at Easter Road but it all unravelled in the last minute.
| Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood was down in the dumps from five o'clock on Saturday. He felt that the draw against Hibs at Easter Road felt more like a loss as his side contrived to lose a good two goal lead and head home with only a single point. His players suffered his wrath for what he considered to be a poor first half performance and it is a long way to Aberdeen in a confined space with an angry manager after failing to hang on for a much needed win. Hibs were not about to capitulate again and played right to the last second and salvaged a point thanks to Steven Fletcher's last minute goal He said: "It does feel like a defeat but we didn't deserve anything else. If you play that badly in the first half, when you can't pass the ball from A to B, then you've got a problem and you always get found out, and we got found out in the last ten seconds. We went 2-0 ahead and the game should be finished at this level. I was always worried the first half would come back at us. If you're not playing and passing it right then you're going to get punished and we did. It's a hard place to come to but we were 2-0 ahead, and 2-1 ahead with ten seconds to go." | |
