Managers hate it when their team don't take the chances they create.
 Cooper said: "I know the players think I bore them with stories but they need to start listening as we need to be more ruthless in front of goal. Frank McDougall would score a barrow-load for us and he was not an athlete like the players in the modern game. I played with him when he scored four against Celtic in one game and my players could do with being as clinical as he was. He would admit it himself that he was not the fittest or most hard working guy in the team but he scored goals." The Balmoor boss has told his players that they need to developed a more clinical style if they want to progress in their careers. He said: "There are players in our dressing room that want to go to a higher level but they need to start showing me what they can do at Peterhead. I am not naming names but they know who they are." Meanwhile, Cooper will; have to cope without Balmoor defender and captain Callum MacDonald for a while as he had to come off after only 18 minutes of the game at Strathclyde Homes Stadium. Cooper said: "It was a blow to lose Callum so early. He is our captain but he has been struggling with a pelvis injury that we thought would be okay but that was not the case." |
