No two people come away from a game with the same impressions and it is no different for managers.

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood said he could not have asked for anymore from his players - despite watching his side suffer their fifth loss in a row at Pittodrie, this time to Hibs. The Dons are yet to win at home this season after losing 2-1 to the Easter Road side thanks to a Derek Riordan double. Another double from referee Mike McCurry played a major part in the outcome of the game. Firstly, McCurry decided not to punish Souleymane Bamba when the Ivory Coast international got caught in a tangle which brought down Lee Miller in the box to concede a penalty that provided Aberdeen's equaliser. Riordan's second and Hibs' winner also sparked controversy with Charlie Mulgrew unfortunate to be sent off after handling offside Steven Fletcher's goalbound flick. Riordan, who had earlier pounced on a short pass back from Lee Mair to open the scoring from a tight angle, netted from the spot to give the Easter Road side all three points. However Calderwood was impressed with the commitment shown by his players.

He said: "
We dominated possession against a side that are very dangerous going forward. We didn't take our chances and were done by a sucker punch. I have been in games where we have nicked it and I have been raging at the end but I couldn't really have a go at my players after today's game. They can all look themselves in the mirror and say: 'I gave it everything I have got'. I really don't think we deserved to lose this game." Calderwood again felt individual mistakes played a major role in his side's downfall. This time it was Lee Mair who was found guilty of making a costly error. He said: "We gave a goal away because of an individual mistake from a player that has been doing really well for us. Since the start of the season virtually every one of our defenders, including the goalkeeper, has made an individual mistake that has led to a goal. It is very difficult to legislate for that."

A rather different post-match view was held by Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen who was delighted to see his positive approach to the game rewarded with three points. Hibs started with Colin Nish, Derek Riordan and Steven Fletcher up front which is a change from their normal set-up. He s
aid: "I want to be positive, there is no doubt about that. Strikers score goals and I really felt that if we were to take anything from the game today we had to score. We will still have to work on the movement of the three of them up front because they are so different. But I have said all along that I want to see this formation work because I know that the three of them can cause problems for any side."

Paatelainen said his former side's disappointing start to the season played no part in his decision to adopt such an attacking formation. The Finn was pleased with the positive response from his players after last weekend's 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Easter Road. He said: "
The fact that Aberdeen hadn't won at home this season didn't play on my mind at all. If we had been playing any other team I would have used the same formation. We had won two games on the bounce before last week but all credit to Rangers as they were really strong when they played us. I'm delighted to get back on winning ways."
