Tough decision for Greg Shields to make: play in the USA or enjoy another season in Scotland.

Greg Shields looks to be on his way Stateside after Dunfermline gave him permission to leave the club. Shields could well end up playing with USL1 club Carolina Railhawks alongside the likes of Vancouver Whitecaps, Portland Timbers and Puerto Rico Islanders. The Railhawks are coached by Martin Rennie, from Larbert, and are top of the eleven team league. Shields and his wife have already been over to check out the location and facilities and he described the training pitch as "frighteningly good, the best pitch you'd ever see".

The USL league ends in September with the top team qualifying automatically for a semi final. The next six teams play off for the three other semi final places and the team that wins the final qualify for Concaf Cup. Sheilds said: "
Sometimes you have to got to take the opportunities that come along, it is really too good an opportunity not to accept. I have the chance to go and play in places that I would never otherwise see."
