Playing in a high scoring friendly has given Partrick Clegg the appetite for the real thing.

Hibs new man Partick Clegg, who followed manager John Hughes from Falkirk, says he was "
buzzing" after pulling a Hibs shirt on for the first time against semi-professional Selkirk on Wednesday night. The former Ireland Under-21 internationalist said: "I thoroughly enjoyed the game and although we were playing against a semi-professional side it was about getting our fitness levels up. I feel as if I am buzzing because I am loving it at Hibs and it's great to be involved with John. There is a lot of talent at Easter Road and I want to prove that I can work hard and be an asset to the club."

Cregg's career started at Arsenal before moving north and playing more than 100 games for the Bairns in the three-year he spent under the guidance of Hughes - including last season's Scottish Cup final defeat to Rangers. He went on: "
I want Hibs to be successful and I know that we definitely have a highly motivated squad. Any team that plays us will know that they have been in a game. I want my career to kick on and with the opportunity I have been given at Hibs I want to be professional and do my best."
