Can Jocky Scott Make A Difference This Time Around?

Will Airdrie suffer the lift a new manageer brings to a club when they meet Dundee today?
Jocky Scott is back at the helm at Dens Park and will be hoping for third time lucky status as he strives to revive the fortunes of Dundee. Second bottom of the First Division, Scott likes to look at things as just three wins away from the right end of the league. Today sees him determined to end an eight-game run without a win against Airdrie. Most new managers are able to inject a fresh approach and players up their game to impress so who knows what will happen today. Scott may be familiar with the surroundings but not the players. He has to cope with the same long injury list that previous boss Alex Rae struggled with towards the end of his time at the club. Long term injuries to Colin Cameron, Jim Lauchlan, Darren Young and Colin McMenamin will keep them all out while Gary MacKenzie, who is the closest to returning to action, is still not quite ready to return to the fray.

Airdrie United boss Kenny Black was on the list to take over at Dundee but he is determined to put the week of speculation behind him. Black has committed himself to the Lanarkshire club cause as they have their own promotion ambitions to strive for. He said: "No-one will be more happier than me if I am left alone to do the job on Saturday and then we will take whatever comes after that.'' Airdrie will definitely be without captain Paul Lovering today as he still has a foot injury.
