Looks like Steven Fletcher will go, one way or the other
Burnley newcomers to the English Premier League have approached Hibs for striker Steven Fletcher. Manager Owen Coyle (linked to the Celtic job recently) has spoken to John Hughes about the player and may now go head to head with new Celtic boss Tony Mobray for the players signature.
Hibs have already blocked a possible move for Fletcher 22 to Celtic in January.
Fletcher has already expressed his desire to play down south saying: "Even when Celtic came in for me earlier in the year, I told everyone my first aim was to see if I could play down south. I wouldn't turn down big moves to big clubs, but I'd rather go down and play in the best league in the world."
Hibs boss Hughes will discuss the approach from the clarets with chairman Rod Petrie today.
The Hibs manager (a Hibs fan since childhood) has already gone on record saying that he would want Fletcher to stay at Hibs: "I think Steven will want to work with me. I might be wrong."
