Buddies Need New Attitude

stmirren jpegDanny Lennon is hoping to have Aaron Mooy in his St Mirren squad for the game against Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday. The Australian midfielder is training with the Buddies at the moment while the club try to come to a financial agreement with Bolton. Mooy rejected a contract extension offer from the Lancashire club in the summer and Lennon is confident a deal to bring the player north of the border can be concluded.

The Buddies' boss said: "Aaron is actually up (training) with us at this moment. We feel confident that we can come to some sort of agreement with Bolton. We have him up with us so that if it does go ahead he will not have to play catch up. There are one or two things to be sorted out but we are confident that there will be something sorted and fingers crossed it is before the weekend."

Saints are bottom of the SPL with five points from eight games as they look forward to the trip to Hearts on Saturday. Lennon believes his players need to be developing a "nasty streak" to improve results. He said: "We need a wee nasty streak about us. At times we are just too nice. I don't just mean with the opposition. I also mean with our players influencing and directing players around them. I feel the more experienced ones have to give the other ones a hand and point fingers. In the last couple of weeks at training, for instance, I have heard players moaning about the ball being over the line for a throw-in. But see when a goal goes in - not a peep. That frustrates me because I would be more concerned with that but I will keep at them and eventually the penny should drop."
