motherwellCraig Brown knows he does not have a bottomless pit of money if he wants to add to his squad in the January transfer window. To ensure he balances the Motherwell books, he will have to sell players to bring in the experience he considers his squad need. admits he will have to sell players in January if he wants to strengthen his squad. His most recent matchday squad including eight under-21s. It is set to get more difficult for the SPL outfit as on-loan striker Nick Blackman's deal will expire in January, while Alan Gow and Mark Fitzpatrick are out of contract at the end of the year.

Brown said: "It's too early with regard to the boys who are out of contract in January. There is nothing to report there and we will look at the situation more closely at the start of December. Alan is doing fine, he scored an important goal to get us into the cup semi-final. He has settled in quite well and we will have a decision to make on him. I've already stated I would like to keep Nick but we will wait and see what happens with Blackburn. But with regards to adding to our existing squad it doesn't look like we will be able to bring in new players, not even a kid, as we can't afford to. We would have to transfer a player for that to happen. Mark can sign a pre-contract or someone could buy him but we've not heard anything yet. We will see what happens but I'm happy with the squad I've got and not moaning about the situation."
