A tough call for Mark Brown: stay at Celtic or move to get first team football.

Loanee Mark Brown is considering whether his career would benefit from moving away from Parkhead. He is playing for Kilmarnock at the moment and the goalkeeper is enjoying first-team football at Rugby Park. Brought is as cover for Alan Combe, Brown has been a regular for Jim Jefferies' side this season after being signed on a six-month loan. Brown has made the Rugby Park number one jersey his own leaving the veteran Combe on the sidelines, something he failed to achieve at Parkhead after being signed from Inverness. The Motherwell-born keeper is enjoying regular football and believes he needs first-team action, something that is unlikely to happen at Celtic, to develop his skills and career. Brown does not know whether he will extend his stay at Kilmarnock or whether Hoops boss Tony Mowbray would be willing to allow him to move on another loan for the second half of the season.

He said: "It's been going really great so far. It's a chance for me to get out and actually play some first-team football again. It's a decision for the clubs at the end of the day. I was brought as cover for Alan Combe, who had an operation. I have to see if Celtic are actually willing to loan me out for the second half of the season. At this stage it's a bit up in the air really. As far as I'm concerned I'm just enjoying playing. Hopefully I'll perform well and help Kilmarnock get some points on the board because it's tight at the bottom. In my time I've had at Celtic I've only played 14 games, so from my point of view the loan's worked out well for me. There probably will be a time where I have to leave Celtic. I haven't really played many games. I'm at an age where I really want to be playing. I don't want to be on the bench, sidelines or in the stands. I just want to play as many games as I can and if that's away from Celtic, then so be it."
