George Boyd is keen to be involved with the national side again and make progress to the full A squad.

| Another Boyd is willing to play for his country Peterborough forward George Boyd is hoping his fine start to the Championship season will bring him to the attention of national manager George Burley. Boyd has already been on the score sheet nine times this season for Darren Ferguson's side and is confident of breaking into George Burley's set-up. His only international involvement to date was for Scotland's 'B' side against Northern Ireland at the end of last season. However, if he continues to score goals like the one he scored at Blackburn in midweek he should expect to get a call.
He said: "They called me to say that I wasn't involved in the last squad but hopefully if I keep playing well then I will get another call-up. The full squad is obviously the main target and if I keep scoring goals in the Championship then I feel I have a chance. But my main priority is keeping Peterborough in the league and whatever comes on top of that is a bonus." |
