Blue Noses In Bloo Toon

Should Rangers end up in Division 3 it is likely they will start their league campaign at Peterhead.
Rangers would inherit Stranraer's Div 3 fixtures giving them a league start at Balmoor Stadium, Peterhead on Saturday August 11th. The following weekend they would play their first match at Ibrox as a non-top flight club against East Stirlingshire.
The 'Blue Noses ' visiting 'The Bloo Toon' would certainly provide a story for the media. The Aberdeenshire town of Peterhead and the local Football Club is nicknamed The Bloo Toon after the blue socks or 'mogganers' once worn by local fishermen. Rangers might actually find themselves with more local support than they expected in this corner of the North East 30 miles or so from Aberdeen. Like all provinical towns in Scotland Peterhead has a thriving Rangers Supporters Club and at least a couple of buses head for Glasgow every other week with North East Rangers fans bedecked in red, white and blue. Balmoor stadium entertained Celtic in the cup last season and although Peterhead lost 0-3 locals would almost certainly be excited by the other half of the Old Firm being available twice in the new season for league matches at Balmoor which was built in the late 1990's as a Community Stadium to replace Recreation Park as Peterhead pushed for SFL status from the Highland League and that was finally achieved in 2000.
