Losing 11 goals in three games tells you where the problems lie for Aberdeen.

Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee knows all about his defence or rather the lack of it since he arrived at Pittodrie. The Dons have lost 11 goals in three competitive games this season, with the recent signing of Jerel Ifil failing to prevent Celtic scoring three times in the first half of Saturday's curtain-raiser. McGhee is hoping that by bringing in Italian Davide Grassi and Spaniard Aitor Fernandez Lopez on trial he will find the answer to at least some of his problems at the back.

Former Parma defender Grassi can play both left-back and centre-half while ex-Espanyol and Racing Santander man Lopez is an option at right-back. McGhee will be hoping that even by bringing in new faces on trial that his defence will sharpen up their act before they face Hamilton away from home.
